Frankland Building at University of Birmingham
Client: GTH Construction
Extensive external and internal scaffolds to facilitate a comprehensive re-modelling of this traditional red brick University Building. Most of the South elevation required a bespoke design so that we could install beams on to shear plates above an obstructing single storey roof. The elevation also incorporated a hoist tower with Maber 250kg hoist feeding all 7 floors. Over 1800 sheets of plasterboard went into the building in this way.
The previous such-like refurb was to the Aston Webb Block C Building in 2013, which the University also entrusted to us.
